Inspired by the perception of confluence, Connection represents the idea that the actions and interactions of those in the community create the foundation of the local landscape. With this perspective of connection, to not only each other but with our surroundings, a new way of looking at locality emerges; a link between those that make up the community and the landscape. When people feel this interrelation within society, they can embark on the journey of understanding how individual actions have rippling effects and strive to take part in shaping a thriving, uplifting culture. From a distance, Connection projects Woodland’s local landscape on to the building. As the viewer gets closer, it is revealed that community, the connections between people, are what make up the landscapes.
