SUPERIOR, CO
Designed for a neighborhood destroyed by the 2021 Marshall wildfire and inspired by regeneration and growth, this free-standing sculpture depicting stylized grass signifies hope, re-emergence and abundance. Long known to emblematize roots and expansion, grass has been used throughout history to illustrate how temporary life can be and that there is always promise of rebirth. Latin for “new life”, Vita Nova symbolizes connections made within the neighborhood, forming the community’s foundation to enable a new beginning.
